Your Guardians of Freedom Air Force Pins Testimonials

Two weeks ago you sent my husband and I two Air Force pins with the 'P' on it cradled in the Air Force symbol recognizing the partnership between America’s Air Force and the parents of the Airmen. You don’t know how deeply touched we are, we will wear them proudly because we are so proud of all our troops and we want everybody to know.

This pin meant so much to me because it not only represents all the troops in the Air Force but also my son…

I remember that my parents had a small flag in their window with two blue stars. That was to show that they had two children in service during World War II. But the lapel pin is better because it goes with me wherever I go. How kind of you to think of the parents this way.

May I take a moment of your time and extend my gratitude for the poignant reminder of my son’s dedication to the Air Force I do wear the lapel pin proudly, as you have hoped…and feel sure each parent does.

It is truly an honor for us to have received this token from you and the Air Force. It is yet another announcement of the pride we hold in the commitment and accomplishments of our son, Jeb.

Thank you for taking the time to address the feelings of the families of the service men and women.

This month I received the parent lapel pin due to our daughter, Mary, who is a Captain in the Air Force. I will wear it proudly because of her and the U.S. Military she represents.

Thank you for thinking of the parents who worry day and night about our adult children serving away from home for our beloved country.

We have since framed the letter and placed it in a place of honor in our home.

I plan to wear my 'P' lapel pin close to my heart each and every day – not only for David, but for our military men and women who are in harm's way.

My wife and I would like to take this opportunity to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to you for our thoughtful gift. We will always cherish them. I can't begin to tell you how we felt when we opened your letter. Tears filled our eyes as we read your letter and pride swelled in our hearts when we saw the pins.

Dear Secretary Dominguez,
The U.S. Air Force "P" pin arrived in the mail today. I wear it with pride. Thank you and Gen. Jumper for sending it. My son Rich, carries on a long family tradition of military service to our Country. His grandfather and my father served in the Army during W.W. I, being called out of the ROTC at the University of Illinois at the start of the United States involvement in 1917. My brother and I both made careers in the Navy. Rich got a taste of military life as he accompanied me to my various duty stations around the world. I am glad that he chose the Air Force to continue our family tradition for another generation. At the University of Illinois, a land grant college, I had to take two years of ROTC, and the Air Force was my choice. Learned much from the instructors, which stood me in good stead later on during my commissioned naval service.

I appreciated the letter which accompanied the pin expressing your pride in our current Armed Forces members, which I fully share, and the note about the "E" flags used during W.W. II.

Thank you again for your note about the "new generation" to carry on out freedoms. Freedom is never free and each generation must address it head on.

Sincerely,
Richard

Dear John P. Jumper & James Y. Roshe,
I want to thank you for the lapel pins. They are really nice and we are really proud of our son. He is special to us; he is the only child we have. I can’t really tell you enough about him. He is a really good boy; I should say a man. So thanks again.

From his Father & Mother

Dear Sir;
As an old veteran, it is with deep emotional patriotism and parenting pride that I forward this thanks for sending my wife and I the U.S. Air Force Pins.

We are very proud of our daughter who, as a member of the Air Force has seen action in 3 conflicts and earned many medals.

As parents we want to express our comments to keep up the good work and right fight. We also deem it necessary that we continue till the job is completed and safety is restored for all involved.

We do implore you to provide all the necessary equipment for ALL of our troops’ safety that is necessary for job completion!

"Thank you" again for the Pins! We wear them proudly for our America & our daughter!

Sincerely Yours,

Dear Sirs:
This is in regard to your letter dated 8 June 2005 that was sent to parents of Air Force personnel. The letter suggested that an enclosed pin be worn to signify support for our son, Lt. Col. David. David is a graduate of the Air Force Academy, a career member of the Air Force and is presently serving a tour of Iraq.

We commend the Air Force command structure for initiating the program to distribute these pins. Our family was truly  touched that the Air Force has put this form of recognition in place for our sons and daughters now serving their country in a rather dangerous and difficult time.

Thank you for the pin. We will indeed wear it proudly and will continue to support our son and his family in any way possible while he continues his military career.

We also offer our sincere thanks for those who initiated, approved and implemented this program.

Sincerely,

John P. Jumper
